to get $100M investment SJWS to maintain Catholic identity
under UH management
WESTLAKE The
Sisters of Charity Health System and University Hospitals will
each invest a total of $50 million in St. John West Shore Hospital
over the next several years.News of the investment came in a March 3 announcement
describing changes in the longstanding partnership between the
two health care organizations.
City
to purchase 30 acres for $1.65M
WESTLAKE The land, immediately west of Westlake
Porter Public Library on Center Ridge Road, was the proposed site
of a planned Super Kmart residents vigorously opposed years ago. An
apartment complex
planned for the property fell through due to the credit crunch. Speculation
is that the land will be used for recreational purposes.
O’Grady
kicks off campaign
NORTH OLMSTED The mayor faces three opponents
in the May 5 primary. In announcing his re-election bid, O'Grady expressed
hope that the municipal government will emerge from the current economic
crisis stronger than before.

Lawrence repeats as state runner-up
For the second year in a row, Lawrence fell one point
short of a state championship in wrestling as his opponent got a takedown
in the third period and came away with a narrow 3-2 decision at the
2009 Ohio High School State Wrestling Tournament at Value City Arena.
