Crossing guard locations reduced
NORTH OLMSTED — Financial constraints have caused a reduction in the number of school crossing guards from 14 to two. The guards' salaries, formerly paid by by the city, will now be split between the city and school district.

FAIRVIEW PARK — City Council Monday approved the city's purchase of the property for $120,000. The motel, which municipal officials have described as a nuisance
to the neighborhood, will be demolished at the owner's expense.
Fire shift manning levels dip with budget woes
NORTH OLMSTED — Fire Chief Tom Klecan said the department’s minimum staffing level has gone down to nine per shift for the two fire stations. Many shifts will go down to eight at times in the summer with vacations and when someone calls off, he added.
