The Magnificat cross country team capped off an unbeaten
season in fine fashion Saturday. They scored 68 points to easily outdistance
runner-up North Canton Hoover’s 121 and win the Division I championship.

at Fairview Library offers glimpse into past
Fairview Park librarian Sue Siffrit will speak Monday
evening about The Great Lakes Exposition of 1936-37. On 125 acres
of land, roughly from where Browns Stadium to Burke Lakefront Lakefront
are now situated, the expo spotlighted not only Cleveland’s centennial,
but the Great Lakes region as a site of commerce, culture, art,
entertainment and technology during the Depression years.
