Crocker-Stearns work delayed
NORTH OLMSTED — Record-setting August rainfall and sewers too shallow mean that the North Olmsted section of the Crocker-Stearns extention will not be completed until the spring of 2008 instead of the end of this year, officials now say. City Hall leaders acknowledged being unhappy with the change in the timetable.
Fire death ruled a homicide
FAIRVIEW PARK — The death of 67-year-old Gwendolyn Bewley, found dead following an Aug. 29 fire at her West 220th Street home, has been ruled a homicide. The fire was set near the body to conceal her violent death, the county coroner says.
